In 1740 Morikuni Tachibana illustrated a seven-volume picture book with the interesting title Ehon Ōshukubai (i.e., Picture Book of the Plum Tree where the Warbler Dwells). Not all pictures featured a plum tree and warbler but volume four did include the twenty-four pictures of flowers and (or) birds shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it.
